The article states that “social service organizations collectively spend millions of dollars a year on communications that focus on informing people”. They then suggest that the majority of this money is simply wasted. To support this point they imply that it is feelings that cause change. While we cannot deny the fact that feelings can cause fast change in people I think that we must acknowledge that empirical information can also lead to human change. With that being said, I think empirical information will never cause as drastic and quick of a change in people as feelings do. I do think their critique of social service organizations does have validity, as some people will more receptive to straight information than others
